The purpose of the report is to present the revised Ramsgate Maritime Plan for Cabinet approval.

Decision:

That Cabinet adopt the Ramsgate Maritime Plan which gives the strategic direction for Ramsgate Port and Royal Harbour.

Reasons for the decision:

The Ramsgate Maritime Plan gives the strategic direction for the Port and Harbour. This will also be a useful tool for marketing purposes.

Alternative options considered:

That Cabinet do not adopt the Ramsgate Maritime Plan. This will mean that Maritime Services do not have a formal document in place that gives the strategic direction for Ramsgate Port and Royal Harbour.

Councillor Jo Gideon who writes ,on behalf of Councillor Campbell, that the reasons for call-in are: (1) The Maritime Plan lacks clarity for on-going governance of the Port and Harbour; (2) The Maritime Plan lacks a test plan to fund required investment; (3) Is there a plan to use private sector investment and knowledge to modernise the Port? (4) Is it envisaged that income generated from the Port will be used to regenerate the Royal Harbour?; and (5) The Maritime Plan lacks a separation model for the Port and Harbour. "
