Purpose:
To seek agreement to formally consult with council tenants on changes to the tenancy agreement.
Decision:
Cabinet approved the consultation required to introduce these changes by serving the notice in accordance with the statutory requirements.
Reasons for the decision:
To allow Thanet DC to make changes to the tenancy agreement as introduced by the Localism Act 2011.
Alternative options considered:
Not making changes to the tenancy agreement or
Considering the current draft and making minor changes before going to consultation.
The draft attached in annex 1 has already been subject to extensive informal consultation and the documents are ready for formal consultation there is no reason to delay this any further.
