Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to combine and regulate the Council’s operation of digital image recording systems.
Decision:
Cabinet agree the following:
1. The adoption of Combined Surveillance/CCTV/Image recording technologies Policy;
2. To delegate any operational revisions of the policy to the Head of Neighbourhoods.
Reasons for the decision:
The purpose of this policy is to combine and regulate the Council’s operation of digital image recording systems which are currently separated in to 2 separate policies and to introduce minimum standards for the future.
Alternative options considered:
To continue using separate policies for different levels of CCTV image capture and use. This alternative was not considered suitable and clear guidance is required across the Council for the use of CCTV.
