APPLICATION FOR GRANT OF LICENCE TO DRIVE PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLES

Minutes:

Alison Stocker, Licensing Officer introduced the report.

There were no questions for the Licensing Officer regarding her report.

The applicant addressed the Board.

The applicant’s spouse addressed the Board.

Members asked questions of the applicant.

Further to the debate, Members agreed:

The Sub-Committee (applying the considerations referred to above) decided they are satisfied that the Applicant is a fit and proper person to hold a private hire driver’s licence. The application is therefore granted with a licence to be issued for a period of six months. The Sub-Committee felt that the explanation given by the Applicant and their spouse with regard to the incident surrounding the police caution was an accurate account. The Sub-Committee found that the failure to declare the caution on the Applicant’s application form was a genuine mistake on behalf of the Applicant.
