That the public and press be excluded from the meeting on agenda item 6 as it contains exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 4 and 7 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Licence to drive Private Hire Vehicles

Minutes:

Alison Stocker, Licensing Officer presented the report.

 

Members asked questions of the Licensing Officer.

 

The Applicant addressed the Board.

 

Members asked questions of the Applicant.

 

Further to debate, the Licensing Board agreed:

 

We have heard evidence about a reprimand issued by the Police in respect of the Applicant in 2011 when he was a juvenile and about a minor offence involving the lack of an "'L plate" on the rear of a scooter purchased on the same day by the Applicant in 2014.

 

We also heard from the Applicant himself.  We found him to be an impressive and mature individual. 

 

We are satisfied that the Applicant is a fit and proper person to hold a Licence to Drive a Private Hire Vehicle.  Accordingly, we grant the application for a full year.
