Councillor Scobie proposed, Councillor Saunders seconded and members agreed that the minutes be approved as a correct record of the meeting held on 15 February 2022.

It was proposed by Councillor Shrubb, seconded by Councillor Wing and Members agreed:

 

That the public and press be excluded from the meeting for agenda item six  as it contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 7 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

RENEWAL OF A LICENCE TO DRIVE PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLES

Minutes:

Ms Phillips, Principal Litigation Solicitor made the introductory remarks by advising of the meeting procedure for the discussion of this item.

 

Ms Malyn, Licensing Officer, presented the report.

 

The Licensing Officer asked questions of the Licence Holder.

 

Members asked questions of the Licence Holder.

 

Following the debate, Members of the Board agreed the following:


Upon the consideration of the application for the renewal of the Licence to Drive private hire vehicles of Mr Douglas Lawrence, the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976  provisions, and hearing the representations made to the Board by:

 

1. The Licensing Officer - Ms Mayln

2. The Licence Holder - Mr D Lawrence

 

It was the decision of the Licensing Board on the 5th April 2022 to refuse the application for the renewal of the licence.’
