Apologies were received from Parish Councillor Way.

There were no declarations of interest.

To approve the Minutes of the meeting of Standards Committee held on 26 June 2018, copy attached.

Councillor Tomlinson proposed, Councillor Johnston seconded and Members agreed the minutes were a correct record of the meeting held on 26 June 2018.

Karen Paton, Strategic Procurement Manager outlined the report.

-Members were advised that the “National Living Wage” is the re-branded National Minimum Wage and is not the “Real Living Wage”.  Members were advised that the option outlined at 5.2 reflected this consideration - as employers are legally required to pay the National Living Wage.

Further to questions, Members expressed preference that the reference to the National Living Wage should be included in the Contract Standing Orders as per the recommendations made by the Constitutional Review Working Party.

It was proposed by Councillor Johnston, seconded by Councillor Jaye-Jones and agreed:

“5.1 – Standards Committee endorse the proposed changes and content of CSOs to include all CRWP recommended amendments and make recommendation to Full Council.”

The Committee noted the Local Government Ombudman’s 2018 letter.
