To approve the Minutes of the Joint Transportation Board meeting held on 16 March 2021, copy attached.

Minutes:

Councillor Fellows proposed, Councillor Scobie seconded and Members agreed the minutes to be a correct record of the meeting held on 16 March 2021.

Highways Forward Works Programme: 2021/22 and 2022/23 pdf icon PDF 529 KB

Minutes:

Ms Wadhams, Dover District Manager, KCC introduced the report on behalf of Mr Valek who was unavailable to attend the meeting. She provided an update on schemes approved for construction in 2021/22 and 2022/23.

 

During consideration of the item it was noted that:

 

·  Mr Heaps was the contact officer for Appendix D – Transportation and Safety Schemes.

·  Mr Noad was the contact officer for Appendix E – Developer Funded Works.

·  The works to install a pedestrian crossing outside Ursuline College in Canterbury Road,  was planned to commence on 23 July.

 

Members noted the report.

 

5.

Proposed Waiting Restrictions – Various Roads, Thanet pdf icon PDF 779 KB

Minutes:

Mr Heaps, Schemes Project Manager (Thanet), KCC introduced the report that detailed the proposed waiting restrictions in Thanet, and included a summary of the objections received.

 

During consideration of the item it was noted that:

 

  • The proposed sites underwent statutory consultation, and 8 comments were received.  Two were in support and six against the proposals.

 

It was proposed by Councillor Potts, Seconded by Councillor Crow-Brown and the Board agreed the following:

 

‘That the restrictions be installed as advertised, with the exception of the junctions of Truro Road with Augusta Road and Albion Road where the length of the restrictions should be reduced from 10m to 5m to reduce loss of on-street parking provision.’

Ms Vickers, Interim Director of Environment, TDC introduced the report that detailed the five proposed locations for the prohibition on waiting my motorcaravans.

 

It was proposed by Councillor Binks, Seconded by Councillor Fellows and the Board agreed the following:

 

‘That subject to the views of this Board, the recommendations shown in appendix 1 are approved and;

 

That the proposals which require statutory consultation are advertised, and that any traffic related objections are reported back to a future meeting of the Board.’
