Minutes:

Nicholas Hughes, Committee Services Manager, presented the report on Review of  Polling District, Places and Stations, making the following key points:

·  The report was on behalf of the returning officer, it allowed full council to review  the recommendations from the Boundaries Electoral Working Party (BEAWP), which covered  polling stations, districts, places, and stations.

·  The council was required to undertake a review of its parliamentary polling  stations and polling places between October 1st 2023 and 31st January 2025, as  per Section 17 of the Electoral Registration Administration Act 2013.

·  The process saw the existing polling stations being evaluated during the 2024  General Election, and where it was found that there were insufficient details as a result of that check, further visits were conducted by officers.

·  The further collated information was used to create the proposals which were  consulted upon.

·  A public consultation was held prior to the Christmas break, and the results were  presented in Annex 2. The council received 22 responses.

·  On January 14th 2025, the BEAWP reviewed the consultation responses and  made the recommendation ‘that the proposals for polling districts, places and  stations for future elections, as attached at Annex 1 to the report, be approved by  Full Council.’

The Chair proposed, the Vice-Chair seconded, and Councillors agreed the  recommendations as set out in the report be adopted namely:

‘That the proposals for polling districts, places and stations for future elections, as  attached at Annex 1 to the report, be approved by Full Council.’
