Designation of the proposed conservation areas at Northdown Road, Edgar Road/Sweyn Road, Clifftop, Norfolk Road/Warwick Road/Surrey Road and Clifton Place/Grotto Gardens

To implement the Council’s aim to initiate the process of designating the areas of Cliftonville as conservation areas to ensure that the architecture and quality of housing in these areas is protected for generations to come.

 

The Council proposes the designation of 5 conservation areas in Cliftonville, Margate:

  i.  Northdown Road

  ii.  Edgar Road/Sweyn Road

  iii.  Cliff Top

  iv.  Norfolk Road/Warwick Road/Surrey Road

  v.  Clifton Place/Grotto Gardens

 

The Council proposes the adoption of character appraisals and management plans documents to accompany each conservation area.
