The first formal stage in the neighbourhood planning process is for communities who intend to prepare a plan to submit their proposed neighbourhood planning area to the Council for designation. This will be the area to which a neighbourhood plan would relate. An application for a neighbourhood area has been submitted to the Council for designation by Ramsgate Town Council.
Cabinet agreed that the proposed Ramsgate Neighbourhood Plan Area as shown at Annex 2 (of the report) be designated.
· There are no planning reasons against which the application for designation should be refused;
· The application met all relevant legal requirements;
· There were no significant objections to the proposed area in the public consultation carried out by the Council.
Amending the proposed boundary or refusing the application would require appropriate justification which would have to be publicised in line with legal requirements. There are no justifiable reasons to amend or refuse the application.
