Decision details

Adoption of Local Development Scheme

Decision Maker: Cabinet

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

This report proposes changes to the Local Development Scheme (LDS), to update the work programme. The report recommends that a revised LDS be brought into effect to accommodate these changes.

Decision:

Cabinet resolved to bring the revised Local Development Scheme into effect on 11 September 2015 (or if necessary as soon as possible thereafter)

Reasons for the decision:

Under the Planning regulations, the Council is required to prepare and maintain a local development scheme, which is a work programme for local planning policy documents. The LDS needs to be kept under review on a regular basis.

Alternative options considered:

(ii)  Resolve to bring the revised LDS into effect and that it should come into effect on another date, or

(iii)  Resolve that the LDS should be brought into effect subject to amendments to its content; or

(iv)  Resolve not to bring the LDS into effect.

Reasons for rejection: In order to comply with the Planning Regulations and to reflect the Council’s proposed work programme.
