Decision:
To purchase 2 properties, 3 & 5 Spire close in accordance with the Acquisition programme.
Reasons for the decision:
In October 2017, cabinet approved the Acquisition programme. The Council has the power under Section 9 of the Housing Act 1985 to acquire houses for the purpose of providing housing accommodation.
An offer was accepted on two properties in August 2018, and exchange took place on number 3 Spire Close on 21st September 2018, and Number 5 Spire Close on 2nd October 2018.
The homes will be let directly to households who are homeless and in temporary accommodation.
Alternative options considered:
In identifying these properties for purchase other available properties on the market were considered. These properties were considered to offer good value for money for the programme.
