That the public and press be excluded from the meeting on agenda item 7 as it contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Licence to Drive Private Hire Vehicles

Minutes:

Mrs Stocker introduced The Applicant.

 

The Applicant had no questions for Mrs Stocker.

 

The Board asked questions of Mrs Stocker.

 

The Applicant addressed the Board.

 

Mrs Stocker asked questions for The Applicant.

 

Members of the Board asked questions for The Applicant.

 

Following the discussion, The Applicant and Licensing Officers were asked to leave the room whilst the Board deliberated.

 

Once the Board came to a decision, the Applicant and Licensing Officers were invited back into the meeting room and Mr Hodkinson, Interim Principal Litigation Lawyer addressed the meeting and read out the Board decision which was as detailed below:

 

“The Board has considered the evidence in the report provided and the response of the Applicant to questions put to him.

 

The Board have considered this history in the light of the test of being “fit and proper / safe and suitable” to hold a private hire driver’s licence.

 

The decision of the Board is to grant a licence for 12 months.”
